Glory Dogo Spring(Asan)_ 글로리 도고온천(아산)

 As there are many highways in Korea these days, the travel time is rapidly shortening inversely. It was recognized that the area like Asan was once a place for sightseeing from Seoul for one night and two days, but nowadays it is possible for 1day trip.

 There are Dogo Onsen hot springs in Asan, and there were many tourists who stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the hot springs. So it had become one of the travel culture, but nowadays it has declined much due to the proximity to Seoul, old facilities and decreased public interest to hot spring.

 However, it is attractive to enjoy hot springs at a reasonable price compared to other famous sightseeing spots, so if you need to stop by in Asan, it would be nice to experience hot springs in this area.

 요즘 한국에 고속도로가 많이 생기면서 이동시간은 그에 반비례하여 급속도로 짧아지고 있다. 아산정도 되는 거리에 있는 지역은 예전에는 서울에서 1박2일로 관광을 하는 곳이라는 인식이 있었는데 요즘은 당일치기로 충분히 다녀올 수 있다. 

 아산에는 도고온천이 있어 예전에는 호텔에 머무르며 온천을 즐기는 관광객들이 많았으며 하나의 여행문화로 자리잡았으나 요즘 서울에서 가까운 거리, 낡은 시설, 온천욕에 대한 관심저하 등으로 인해 현재는 많이 쇠퇴한 것이 현실이다.  

 하지만 다른 유명관광지에 비해 저렴한 가격으로 온천을 즐길 수 있는 매력이 있기 때문에 아산에 들러 숙박을 해야 할 경우 이 지역에서 온천욕을 경험해 보는 것도 좋을 것 같다.

 The place I stayed at is Glory Dogo Onsen, located 1 hour and 30 minutes from Asan by car from Seoul.

 필자가 숙박한 곳은 글로리 도고 온천이며 아산근처로 서울에서 승용차로 1시간 30분 거리에 위치하고 있다.

 As you can see, the exterior is very old compared to recent facilities.

 보시다시피 외관은 요즘 시설들에 비하면 많이 낡았다.

 The inside of the condo. The lobby is very clean compared to the exterior because it was remodeled. However, the condition of facilities and rooms are considerably lower than those of modern condo. But it was satisfactory in terms of cost-effectiveness. When you stay at a condo, you can use hot-spring with discounted price and if you look for the accommodation rate on the internet, you will be able to book at a reasonable price.

 콘도 내부의 모습. 리모델링을 해서 외관에 비해 로비는 매우 깨끗하다. 하지만 부대시설 및 객실의 상태는 현대의 콘도시설들에 비해 많이 떨어지는 것을 감안해야 할 것이다. 하지만 가성비 측면에서 볼 때는 만족스러웠다. 콘도에서 숙박 시 온천이용요금도 할인이 되고 숙박요금도 인터넷에서 찾아보면 저렴한 가격에 예약할 수 있을 것이다.

 I could not take a picture of the interior of the hot spring because it is not allowed, so I brought a picture from the condo homepage. Facilities are outdated and there are not many kinds of baths which we can see in the sauna these days. Lighting is dark and narrow. However, if you have to stay in Asan, I recommend you stay hotel near here to experience the good quality of water in Dogo Onsen.

 온천내부의 모습은 촬영이 불가능해서 콘도 홈페이지에 있는 사진을 가져왔다. 시설은 낡았고 요즘 사우나에서 볼 수 있는 다양한 종류의 탕도 마련되어 있지 않다. 조명도 어두운 편이며 좁다. 하지만 도고 온천의 수질 좋은 물을 경험해 본다는 의미에서 아산에서 숙박을 해야 할 일이 있다면 꼭 이곳이 아니라도 도고온천 근처의 호텔에 와 보는 것을 추천한다.
