Daegu Chimac(Chicken&Beer) Festival_ 대구 치맥 페스티벌

 Daegu is one of the hottest areas in Korea. When I visit Daegu in the summer, many local people go out of Daegu to avoid the heat, so I can see that the road is uncrowded even though it is a big city. In this hot region, Daegu, the Chimac(Chicken&Beer) Festival is held annually since 2013.

 It is held around Duryu Park for about 5 days at July which is the hottest time and visitors have been increased because of the spirit of the ‘fight the heat with the heat’ or the popularity of Chimac. Number of visitors has exceeded one million 2018. I have been to this festival twice last year and this year and it seems that the contents of the event are becoming more diverse and things to participate and experience has been increased compared to last year.

대구는 우리나라에서 제일 더운지역 중 하나이다. 여름에 대구를 방문해보면 현지주민들도 더위를 피해 대구 밖으로 많이 나가서 대도시임에도 도로가 한산한 것을 알 수 있다. 이렇데 더운 지역인 대구에서 2013년부터 매년 치맥페스티벌이 열리고 있다. 

 두류공원 일대에서 가장 더운 시기인 7월 중. 하순에 약 5일동안 개최되는데 이열치열의 정신인지 아니면 치맥의 인기 덕분인지 점점 방문객이 증가하고 있으며 올 2018년에는 100만명을 넘어섰다. 필자는 작년과 올해 2번 다녀왔는데 행사의 내용이 점점 다양해지고 관람객들이 참여와 체험을 할 수 있는 볼거리들도 많이 늘고 있는 것 같다.

 Daegu is a city that takes 3 hours and 40 minutes by car from Seoul. As a metropolitan city, KTX is available to come here at Seoul Station and it can shorten the travel time to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

대구는 서울에서 차로 3시간 40분정도 걸리는 먼 거리에 있는 도시이다. 광역시로서 서울역에서 KTX 이용가능하며 1시간 30분 정도로 이동시간을 단축할 수 있으니 이점 참고하도록 하자.

 It was really hot. Even though I visited here in the evening, my whole body was sweating in less than 5 minutes after getting out of car because of the temperature exceeding 35 degrees Celsius.

It seems that it is good to adjust the holding day by the organizer.

The parking lot is available for 2,000 won at the E world parking lot next to Duryu Park. Due to the heavy traffic, we recommend parking securely at a distance from the venue and visiting by public transportation. If you want to enjoy beer without worrying, leaving the car at hotel would be desirable. isn’t it? It is Chimac(Chicken&Beer) Festival!

 덥기는 정말 덥다. 2년 모두 저녁에 방문했는데 섭씨 35도를 웃도는 기온에 차에서 내린지 5분도 안되어 온몸에 땀이 줄줄 흘러내린다.

주최측에서 개최시기를 조정하는 것도 좋을 것 같다. 

주차장은 두류공원 옆 이월드 주차장을 2000원에 이용 가능하며 교통이 혼잡한 관계로 행사장에서 좀 떨어진 곳에 안전하게 주차를 하고 대중교통으로 방문하는 것을 추천드린다. 명색이 치맥 페스티벌인데 안심하고 맥주를 즐기려면 차는 놓고 와야 하지 않은가.

두류공원 근처로 가 보면 사람들이 정말 많을 것이다. 입구를 조금만 둘러보면 행사장 안내 문구들을 쉽게 찾을 수 있으며 인터넷 검색을 통해 치맥페스티벌 홈페이지를 방문하면 영문으로 안내사항을 확인할 수 있다.

 Almost all of the experience events were closed due to arriving after 9pm, so we moved to the outdoor music hall where we could enjoy the Chimac.

 9시가 넘어서 도착하여 거의 모든 체험행사는 다 문을 닫고 치맥을 즐길 수 있는 야외음악당으로 이동했다.

 When we arrived at the outdoor music hall, the performances in the early evening were all over, and the festival was in peak.

야외음악당에 도착하니 초저녁에 하는 공연은 모두 끝나고 축제는 이미 한창 무르익었다. 

 Friends and family gather together to enjoy the festival night. There are a lot of Chimac shops around the music hall, so go to your favorite places and buy them.

 친구, 가족들이 삼삼오오 모여 축제의 밤을 즐기는 모습이 정겹다. 음악당 주위로 이렇게 치맥 상점들이 늘어서 있어 마음에 드는 곳으로 가서 구입해 먹으면 된다.

 Even though it was at 10 PM and tropical night which is over 30 degrees, it was nice to see a lot of people enjoying Chimac and chill out. But I personally recommend visiting at about 6 pm. Sometimes, late at night, you may see bad behavior by drunken people. Too much is as bad as too little. Let's enjoy everything only until we can control ourselves appropriately.

 10시가 다 되었음에도 불구하고 30도가 훌쩍 넘는 열대야에 많은 사람들이 나와 더위도 식히고 치맥을 즐기는 모습이 보기 좋았다. 하지만 개인적으로 저녁 6시경에 방문하는 것을 추천드린다. 늦은 밤에는 간혹 취객이 나와 눈쌀 찌푸려지는 광경을 볼 수도 있기 때문이다. 과유불급이라고 한다. 모든 것은 적당히 자제할 수 있을 정도로만 즐기도록 하자. 

 I went out to an outdoor music hall and went to Chimac beach. Many stores had already closed because it was already after 10 PM, but I missed to leave so decided to have another cup.

 야외음악당을 나와 치맥비치로 가 보았다. 10시가 넘어 이미 많은 점포가 문을 닫았지만 아쉬움이 남아 간단히 한 잔을 더 하기로 하였다.
