Gunsan time travel on 1930's modern times_1930 근대 군산 시간여행

 As mentioned in Jinpo Maritime theme park, Gunsan is the city that have the best preserved the appearance of the Japanese colonial era in Korea. It may be because the development is not done well after the independence, but it is also a reason why the people of Gunsan preserve well because they think that even though it is the sore point of history it should be remembered and preserved.

 Shinheung-dong, an old town, was a Japanese settlement, and we can see view of that time quite well because they are well-preserved. I stayed at a guesthouse in this town and walked to the nearby tourist attractions. Many tourist attractions are concentrated in Shinheung-dong so if you are planning a trip to Gunsan, let's refer to this.

 Gunsan City seems to be promoting the theme of '1930 Modern Gunsan Time Travel' by bundling modern sites together. I liked this title and borrowed it for the blog name of Gunsan.

진포해양테마공원에서 언급한 바와 같이 군산은 한국에서 일제시대의 모습을 가장 잘 간직한 도시이다. 광복 후 개발이 잘 이루어지지 않은 탓도 있겠지만 군산시민들이 역사의 아픈 부분도 기억하고 보존해야 할 것들이라 생각하고 잘 보존한 것도 큰 이유라 하겠다.

구도심 신흥동 일대는 일본인 주거지 였는데 관리가 잘 되어 현재까지도 당시의 흔적을 찾아볼 수 있다. 필자는 신흥동의 한 게스트하우스에서 묵으며 인근 관광지를 거의 걸어다녔다. 걸어다녀도 될 만큼 가까운 거리에 많은 관광지들이 있으니 군산 여행을 계획하고 있다면 이 점 참고하도록 하자. 군산시에서는 근대유적지를 하나로 묶어 '1930 근대 군산 시간여행' 이라는 테마로 홍보를 하고 있는 것 같다. 필자는 이 제목이 마음에 들어 블로그의 군산 여행 제목으로 차용하였다.  

 I stayed at the guesthouse during Gunsan tour. It is located in the Shinheung-dong alley and is a newly built building in the shape of a Japanese-style house to match the surrounding sightseeing spots. It is often seen that new buildings are built with Japanese style after demolishing old buildings. The inside is made of retinispora, so there was a delicate scent and I could use this facility happily.

군산여행시 묵었던 게스트 하우스. 신흥동 골목에 위치하고 있으며 주변 관광지와 어울리도록 일본식 가옥의 모습으로 신축한 건물이다. 이 주변 노후된 건물도 철거한 뒤 이와 같이 일본식 건물로 신축하는 모습들이 종종 보인다. 내부는 편백나무로 만들어 은은한 향이 나머 깔끔하게 정돈되어 있어 좁지만 만족스럽게 이용했다.

 Dongkuksa which is the only Japanese temples in Korea can be seen on foot from here.

Hirotsu which is a traditional Japanese house built during the Japanese colonial era can also be seen.

일제시대에 만들어진 일본 전통가옥 히로쓰도 볼 수 있다.

 Gunsan is a maritime city, so there are many places to see in nature such as Seonyu Island, but I think walking around the old town for a day will be a good course. There are many other attractions nearby such as Gunsan Modern History Museum, Ginpo Maritime Theme Park, Gunsan Museum of Modern Art so it would be also good choice to make 2 days plan.

군산은 해양도시 답게 선유도 등 자연환경적으로도 볼거리가 많지만 하루쯤 걸어서 구시가지를 돌아보는 것도 좋은 코스가 될 것이라 생각한다. 근처에 군산 근대역사박물관, 진포해양테마공원, 군산근대미술관 등 다른 볼거리들도 많으니 2일코스로도 적당하다.
