Myoung Moon Bakery_명문제과(남원)

 It is Namwon's jewellike bakery which I visited on the way to the Kwanghan-nu. This shop keep appearance of old bakery in Korea and the taste is the best among the bakeries I've ever eaten.
Rencontre in Gyeongju and this bakery are the best one individually chosen. Namwon is a quiet city located about three hours drive from Seoul. There is a court near the bakery and are no tall buildings even though it can be called the center of the city. This place is tasteful for keeping a quiet old Korean city.

광한루를 구경하기 위해 들른 남원의 보석같은 빵집이다. 한국의 옛 제과점 모습을 간직하고 있으며 맛은 여태까지 먹어본 빵집 중 최고 수준이다. 경주의 랑꽁뜨레와 이곳 명문제과가 개인적으로 뽑은 최고의 빵집이 아닌가 한다. 

남원은 서울에서 차로 약 3시간 걸리는 거리에 위치하며 조용한 도시이다. 제과점 근처에 법원이 있어 제법 시내 중심가라고 할 수 있는데도 높은 건물들이 없다. 조용한 한국 도시의 옛모습을 간직하고 있어 운치가 있다.

 Parking can be done by using the empty space across the street of bakery.

 주차는 제과점 길 건너의 공터를 이용하면 된다.

 There is a sign called ‘Myoung Moon Bakery’ in the intersection corner. It is a single-storey building that contains all the traces of the years.

 사거리 코너에 명문제과라는 간판이 보인다. 세월의 흔적을 고스란히 담고있는 단층의 건물이다.

 The inner figure is the same style as outside one. It seems to be a rural bakery in a quiet city.

Breads on display are filled with simple things that are very different from those of today's fashion.

내부의 모습도 외부에서 보이는 그것과 다를 바 없다. 조용한 도시의 여느 시골 빵집이라고 보시면 될 것 같다. 

진열되어 있는 빵들도 잔뜩 멋을 부린 요즘의 모습과는 많이 다른 소박한 것들로 채워져 있다.  

 The freshly baked bread can be seen. I was a little disappointed because they are the breads which I saw in the neighborhood.

 갓 구워져 나온 빵들도 보이고. 어릴 적 필자가 동네에서 보았던 빵들이라 솔직히 좀 실망했었다. 

 This is the classic menu of the house, Cream Soboro. It is made by putting fresh cream in common soboro bread. At first glance, it seemed no different from ordinary soboro bread. I took some kinds of breads and returned to the hotel after payment.

 이 집의 간판 메뉴인 크림소보루이다. 보통의 소보루빵 안에 생크림을 넣은 것이라고 한다. 얼핏 보기에는 일반 소보루빵과 다를것이 없어 보였다. 이런 저런 빵들을 담아 계산하고 숙소에 돌아왔다.

 The breads are very delicious. Myoung Moon’s breads were the same bread as the one that I usually buy at general bakery, but they seemed to be more concentrated on the unique taste of those breads.

 In the case of Rencontre, they make a hard bread with a unique manufacturing method, but Myoung Moon seems to bring the taste of common breads in the best condition. I personally did not have any inspiration for the cream soboro which is a most famous product, but it seems that the rollcake and the castera were really delicious.

 빵들이 참 맛있다. 평소에 먹던 일반 제과점에서 파는 빵과 똑같은 것들인데 무언가 그 빵들만의 고유한 맛에 충실한 것 같았다. 

경주의 랑콩뜨레의 경우 특이한 제조방법으로 딱딱한 빵을 맛있게 만들어낸다면 여기는 흔하게 볼 수 있는 빵들의 맛을 최상의 상태로 

올려놓은 듯 하다. 필자 개인적인 생각으로 간판제품인 크림소보루는 그닥 감흥이 없었으며 오히려 롤케익이나 카스테라 같은 것들이 정말 맛있었던 것 같다.    

 In fact, I knew this bakery after watching this on TV. There are too many food-related broadcasts these days so it is boring sometimes, but I cannot deny the positive effect that helps me to understand such good restaurants. I was sad that they do not provide courier service.

 필자도 사실 TV에서 방영된 것을 보고 이곳을 알게 되었다. 요즘 음식관련 방송들이 너무 많아 식상함을 느끼고 있지만 이렇게 좋은 맛집들을 알 수 있도록 도와준다는 순기능은 부인할 수 없을 것 같다. 명문제과에서 택배판매를 하지 않는다는 것이 아쉽다.
