11. Kim Yusin_Tomb of Kim Yusin_Gyeongju(경주 김유신 묘)

We are going to meet Kim Yusin, the most famous person in Silla history, who performed the feat of the unification of the Three Kingdoms. Tomb of Kim Yusin is located in Gyeongju and takes around 4 hours by car from Seoul.

It takes about 30 minutes by bicycle from Daereungwon district but not recommend using bicycle because of tough route. Of course, you can go with bicycle if you want.

 

김유신 장군묘는 경주에 있으며 서울에서 승용차로 약 4시간 걸린다.

대릉원지구에서 자전거로 약30분정도 걸리는데 길이 가는길이 그리 좋지 않아 자전거 보다는 차량이동을 추천드린다. 물론 자전거로도 충분히 갈 수 있는 거리이긴 하다.

The entrance is uphill so I walked up the bike from here.

입구가 오르막이라 여기서 부터는 자전거를 끌고 걸어올라갔다. 

If you go up about ten minutes, you can see the ticket office.

한 10분정도 올라가면 매표소가 보인다.

Entry fee is 1,000 won.

입장료 1000원을 내고 안으로 입장.

It was end of April so The spring flowers are on their way to the tomb of general.

때는 4월말, 봄이라 꽃들이 장군묘로 가는길을 맞이해 주고 있다.

General Kim Yusin. He became a Hwarang(Mind and body training group made up of youth in Silla.) at the age of 15, and his martial arts and resourceful mind were excellent, lead the military whenever difficulty was occurred in the country. He unified Baekje and Goguryeo and defeat the Tang Dynasty military who tried to subjugate the entire peninsula.

김유신 장군. 15세에 화랑이 되었으며 무예와 지략이 뛰어나 나라에 어려움이 있을때마다 앞장서서 군사를 지휘하였다. 백제와 고구려를 통합하여 삼국통일을 이루었으며 한반도 전체를 복속시키려는 당나라 군사도 물리쳤다.

    

Protector stone which carved with Twelve Earthly Branches wound around at the bottom of the tomb. 

 The Twelve Earthly Branches figure is in the shape of a person who has animal head wear uniform and hold arms.  

묘 아래쪽에는 십이지신상을 새긴 보호석이 둘러져 있다. 십이지신상은 평복을 입고 무기를 든 모습으로 몸은 사람의 형체이고 머리는 동물 모양이다.
