Memoria(Chungju)_메모리아(충주)

 Around Jung ang tap Park is a quiet area. If an area has such beautiful scenery like this place, there would be usually plenty of amusement facilities including many visitors, but it's still nice to be able to enjoy a quiet atmosphere. After lunch, I went to a café with a distinctive character to spend a quiet afternoon.

 충주 중앙탑공원 주변은 한적한 편이다. 이 정도 경치를 자랑하는 곳이라면 일반적으로 많은 위락시설들로 사람들이 북적거릴텐데 이곳은 아직도 나름 조용한 분위기를 즐길 수 있어서 좋은 것 같다. 점심을 먹고 한적한 오후를 보내기 위해 특색 있는 카페를 찾았다. 

 Memoria is located in Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do and takes about 1 hour 50 minutes from Seoul by car.

 충주 메모리아는 충청북도 충주에 있으며 서울에서 승용차로 약 1시간 50분 걸린다.

 Adjacent roads are not busy, so parking is available in front of the café below. It is only a short distance from the entrance of the Jung ang tap Park, so you can come here by walk after parking on the parking lot of Jung ang tap Park.

 인접 도로가 한적한 편이라 아래와 같이 카페 앞에 주차가 가능하나, 중앙탑 공원 입구에서 얼마 안 떨어져 있으므로 중앙탑공원 주차장에 주차하고 걸어오셔도 된다.

 

A classic car was exhibited in front of the café for a nice atmosphere, but I was more interested in the firewood piled in front of the cafe.

 멋스러운 분위기를 위해 카페 앞에 클래식카 한 대를 전시하고 있는데 필자는 그것보다 카페 앞에 쌓여있는 장작에 더 눈이 갔다. 

 Classic car and firewood. An old cabin or a hut was occurred to my mind.

 The exterior of the cafe was painted in colors that would have been used in the 1950s. The red entrance contrasts with the light green is extraordinary. The cafe is lit by the setting sun and makes you feel warm.

 

 1950년대에나 사용되었을 법한 색상으로 카페 외관을 칠해 놓았다. 연한 녹색과 대비되는 붉은색 입구가 이색적이다. 카페가 석양에 비추어져 따뜻한 감성에 젖게 한다.

 Opening the door, the bright room welcomes us. Exterior was an old cafe atmosphere outside in a small town in the United States, and the interior looked a bit cluttered as there were some European baroque decorations of older time, which is not well matched with outside of the café. There are pictures of an old pop singers on the wall.

 문을 열고 들어가니 생각보다 밝은 실내가 우리를 반긴다. 외부는 미국의 작은 마을에 있을 법한 Old한 카페 분위기였다면 내부는 좀 더 시간을 거슬러 올라가 유럽 바로크 풍의 장식들도 있어 솔직히 약간 어수선한 느낌이 들었다. 벽에는 올드팝 가수들의 사진도 걸려있다.

 It was a little more expensive than regular coffee shops. I think it is not very expensive when we consider the admission fee for viewing the inside props.

 일반 커피전문점에 비해 가격은 좀 비쌌다. 내부의 소품을 감상하는 관람료가 포함되었다고 보면 많이 비싼 것은 아니다. 

 European paintings are hanging on the wall, and fireworks and fireplace models are installed in the corners of the walls. But I could not erase the feeling of cluttering something. The owner of the cafe seemed to have exhibited various items collected at the antique shop.

 벽에는 유럽 명화 들이 걸려있고 구석에는 이렇게 장작과 난로 모형을 설치해서 아늑한 분위기를 내려 한 듯하다. 하지만 무언가 어수선한 느낌은 지울 수 없었다. 카페 주인이 엔틱샵에서 모은 여러가지 물건들을 다 전시해 놓은 것 같았다.  

 The stairs go up to the 2^nd floor. There were various speakers displayed next to the stairs. At this point, should I just say "warehouse atmosphere"?

 2층으로 올라가는 계단. 계단 옆에는 각종 스피커가 전시되어 있었다. 이쯤 되면 그냥 창고? 분위기라고 해야 하나?? 

 I climbed to the 2nd floor and there was a room that seemed to reproduce the inside of a European old house. There were a few tables here for tea. Several decades ago, it was fashionable to place such a chandelier in the living room in Korea. It is an interior that can be seen in drama now.

 2층으로 올라가니 유럽의 어느 고택의 내부를 재현해 놓은 것 같은 방이 있었다. 이곳에서 차를 마실 수 있도록 테이블도 몇 개 놓여 있었다. 

수 십년 전에 한국에서도 이런 모양의 샹들리에를 집 거실에 달아 놓는 것이 유행인 적도 있었다. 이제는 드라마에서나 볼 법한 인테리어다. 

 There were places where small items such as costumes were stored.

 의상을 비롯한 이런저런 소품들이 보관되어 있는 장소도 있었다.

 Coffee, lemonade, and cinnamon bread ordered as dessert. Warm bread to eat with coffee added to the relaxation of the weekend afternoon.

 커피와 레몬에이드, 그리고 디저트로 주문한 시나몬 브레드. 커피와 함께 먹는 따뜻한 빵이 주말 오후의 여유로움을 더해 주었다.

 As the sun goes to the west, the sun shines brightly inside the cafe.

 해가 서쪽으로 가면서 햇살이 카페 내부를 환하게 비춘다.  

 It was such a cafe that it would be nice to stop by for a time to rest your tired legs after taking a walk in the Jung ang tap park.

 중앙탑 공원에서 산책을 하고 피곤한 다리를 쉬러 한 번쯤 들러보면 좋을 것 같은 그런 카페였다.
