Chumsungdae _ 경주 첨성대

In Gyeongju Historic Area, there is Chumsungdae which can know the level of astronomy knowledge of Silla not only in Gyerim, Wolseong. It is the oldest astronomical observatory of the orient which was built during the queen Seonduk reign(632 ~ 647) of the Silla Dynasty.

 

 The Daereungwon district is well equipped with lighting facilities so we can see different view at night. I recommend you to visit Chumsungdae after dinner.

Chumsungdae is located in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk province and takes about 4 hours by car from Seoul.

경주역사유적지구 안에는 계림, 월성지구 뿐 아니라 신라인의 천문지식 수준을 알 수 있는 첨성대도 있다. 신라 선덕여왕 시대에(632~647) 건립된 현존하는 동양에서 가장 오래된 천문대이다. 

 대릉원 지구는 조명시설이 잘 갖춰져 있어 밤에는 또 다른 모습을 볼 수 있다. 저녁식사 후 이곳을 방문하여 첨성대를 보는 것을 추천드린다.

첨성대는 경상북도 경주에 있으며 서울에서 승용차로 약 4시간 걸린다.

 When you enter into the Gyerim Gyeongju historic area and walk for about 5 minutes, you can see Cheomseongdae, which is dazzlingly shining in pink light on the left side.

 

계림 경주역사 유적지구 안으로 들어와서 약 5분정도 걷다보면 좌측에 핑크빛 조명에 눈부시게 빛나는 첨성대를 만나볼 수 있다.

Imagine how many stars have passed and repeated over the top of the Cheomseongdae, a well shaped square, standing on this ground for 1,500 years.

천 오백여년의 세월동안 한 자리에 우뚝 서있는 첨성대의 꼭대기, 우물모양의 사각형 위로 얼마나 많은 별들이 지나갔고 또 반복하여 지나갔을까 상상해본다.
